An architect with a PhD, she is a full professor of History of Architecture and Design at the Politecnico di Torino. A scholar of architecture, the city, and design between the 19th and 20th centuries, she has published numerous essays and volumes on the subject, including "Il design degli architetti italiani 1920-2000", with F. Bulegato (Electa, 2014), and Il Design e l'invenzione del Made in Italy (Einaudi, 2022). She directs the Centre for the Study of Design History in Piedmont and, together with Giampiero Bosoni and Jeffrey Schnapp, the AIS/Design Journal (the journal of the Italian Association of Design Historians).
