Patrizia Brusarosco


Patrizia Brusarosco, after studying Architecture and graduating in Business Economics from the University of Venice in 1988, founded Viafarini in Milan in 1991 — a non-profit organisation for Contemporary Art. In 1994, together with Careof, she co-founded the Careof/Viafarini Documentation Centre, in collaboration with the City of Milan. In 2001, Viafarini won the Premio Cenacolo Innovazione for the project "Museum without a Centre", awarded by Assolombarda (a business association) and the publishing houses Il Sole-24 Ore, Mediaset, Mondadori, and Rcs Editori. In 2007, Viafarini won the American Center Foundation Grant, in recognition of its experimental spirit in supporting emerging artists across a number of projects. In 2008, together with Mario Gorni, Patrizia Brusarosco co-founded the DOCVA Documentation Centre for the Visual Arts at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan. Also in 2008, she launched the residency programme VIR Viafarini-in-residence. In 2020, she opened the Viafarini.work space in the Corvetto neighbourhood of Milan.
