The European Graduate School (EGS) is a private, non-profit graduate institution founded in 1994 in the Swiss Alps. It operates under a foundation committed to interdisciplinary study and offers advanced degrees (Master’s and PhD). Initially rooted in expressive arts therapy, EGS later broadened its curriculum. It is divided into two main divisions: Philosophy, Art & Critical Thought (PACT) and Arts, Health & Society (AHS). PACT covers areas such as philosophy, art theory, literature, film, digital design, political thought, architecture, and psychoanalysis. AHS focuses on expressive arts, therapy, education, conflict transformation, coaching, and peacebuilding. Seminars are intensive and immersive, held in residences in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, and Valletta, Malta. The school is known for its distinguished faculty (artists, philosophers, critical theorists) and its model of education that emphasizes critical inquiry, creative practice, and close interaction between students and faculty.
