6 Online Lessons on Design History
From the beginnings of industrial production to the contemporary contaminations
"6 Online Lessons in Design History. From the beginnings of industrial production to the contemporary contaminations" is an in-depth journey through the fundamental movements that have defined design over the past two centuries, with contributions from nationally renowned professors.
Design is an essential component of our everyday life, whether it's common objects, spaces we inhabit, or technological tools. Understanding the history of design means gaining a deeper awareness of the world around us, recognizing how aesthetic and functional solutions have evolved over time, deeply influencing our culture and way of living.
With this goal in mind, the course is organized into 6 lessons – each lasting 2 hours, including a final Q&A session between participants and professors. The program covers crucial topics, ranging from historical movements to new frontiers in design. Each lesson delves into a key aspect of design history, through the works and ideas of its protagonists, as well as the theories that have shaped the contemporary landscape.
The lessons are led by an exceptional faculty, composed of experts and nationally renowned professionals, with in-depth knowledge of design and a contemporary reading of its history. Among the professors are Dario Scodeller, Aldo Colonetti, Elena Dellapiana, and Ali Filippini.
The course began on April 9, 2025, and concluded on May 28, 2025. Lessons were held on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM CET and conducted in Italian.
