Spazio Giovanile 706

Spazio Giovanile 706 is a youth self-organization that began in Beijing in 2012, founded by a group of university students near Tsinghua University. It quickly became one of China’s most influential youth cultural public spaces, combining functions like coworking, café, library, hostel, and “life laboratory.” Over the years it has expanded into multiple cities in China and abroad, becoming the country’s largest youth self-organization.
706 promotes a model of co-construction, co-governance, and sharing, operating with a decentralized and collaborative structure. It serves as both an offline and online community, connecting young creatives—students, professionals, and cultural workers—through cultural activities, knowledge exchange, and social projects. Blending physical and virtual spaces, 706 fosters creative consumption, new forms of social relations, and collective identity among urban youth.
