Davide Crippa

Davide Crippa is an architect by training and a designer by choice. He founded the studio Ghigos in 2004, graduated in 2005, and earned a PhD in Exhibition Design in 2007. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to work directly with masters of Italian design, enriching his architectural training with expertise from other design disciplines.
In 2019, he founded the innovative start-up Social Factory srl, the first fablab dedicated to the circular economy. In 2021, he created the Benefit Corporation and innovative start-up NONSIBUTTAVIANIENTE s.b.a.r.l., which developed the first sharing and recycling platform for exhibition setups within the Italian museum system.
Crippa has taught at leading Italian universities and, since 2007, has held permanent teaching positions at the Politecnico di Milano (Interior Architecture and Exhibition Design) and at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano (Product Design). Since 2021, he has been Associate Professor at IUAV University of Venice, where, from 2022, he has also served as Director of the Master’s program in Innovation Design and Management.
In 2023, he joined the research group CTRL-Junk, focused on the circular economy, and in 2024 he founded the national cluster NSBNV – Sustainable Exhibit to promote ecological transition in the exhibition sector. A member of ADI (Association for Industrial Design) and head of its designers’ commission until 2012, he has written articles and published books on the theory and history of design.
Among his projects, notable examples include the interactive museum MAF, the Rice Cluster for Expo 2015, and a collection of fans created to “give oneself some air.”
