Cecile Shellman

Cecile Shellman is an independent museum consultant. She most recently served as Special Consultant to the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh’s DEAI Department (Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion). Ms. Shellman has worked at institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago; the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.; the Museum of the National Center for Afro-American Artists in Boston; and the August Wilson Center: African American Cultural Center in Pittsburgh.
In 2018, Cecile was recognized among the 30 Most Influential People in the Arts in Pittsburgh by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She is deeply committed to fostering diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion in cultural organizations and helping institutions implement meaningful systemic change.
