Camilla Alberti

Camilla Alberti (Milan, 1994) is a visual artist whose practice focuses on creating forms of coexistence and collaboration among species, challenging the anthropocentric paradigm of our relationship with the world. She has initiated collaborations with researchers and scientists, exploring connective and symbiotic processes between plants, fungi, insects, and lichens.
Her work develops through an accumulative gesture: abandoned objects and industrial waste converge into sculptural grafts that combine traditional materials – such as plaster and metals – with organic presences in transformation – fungi, bacteria, starches – capable of triggering complex vital processes within inert matter. Her practice often opens up to the public through educational programs involving students, the elderly, and children, such as Learning in Disbinding (14th Gwangju Biennale, 2023) or The Spell of Monsters (Hyundai Museum of Kids’ Books and Art, Seoul, 2024).
She has taken part in residencies including Styria-Artist-in-Residence (Graz), NAHR – Nature Art & Habitat Residency (Val Taleggio), Casa degli Artisti (Milan), LaWayaka Current (Atacama Desert, 2023), and MMCA Changdong at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul. Her work has been presented in national and international institutions, including Kunsthaus Graz (Environmental Art Award, 2024), Malta Biennale (2024), MMCA Seoul (2024), Venice Architecture Biennale (Lithuanian Pavilion, Swamp School, 2018), Palazzo Strozzi, Museo Novecento and Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Akademie Graz, Archaeology Museum Schloss Eggenberg, GIAF in Gangneung, and the Gwangju Biennale. Her works are part of public and private collections, including the Farnesina Collection (Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Museo Novecento in Florence, Hyundai MOKA Museum, North Gyeonggi Children’s Museum, Nctm per l’Arte, and the Corneliani Collection.
