Christian Hampson

Christian is proud Woiwurrung and Maneroo Aboriginal man with a 30-year career of service to the public and the Indigenous community. With qualifications in cultural heritage management and business administration, he was a senior manager in cultural heritage in Federal and State government prior to founding Yerrabingin.
Christian has driven the design and delivery of many innovative heritage conservation and strategic management programs. He led a multi-disciplinary team delivering the Heritage Near Me program, one of NSW's most significant investments in heritage programming. With his sound knowledge of current and emerging trends and applications in the sector, he regularly delivers keynotes and presentations at State and National forums.
Collaborating with First Nations communities across Australia, Christian has evolved a methodology and design sensitivity in planning places that invites people to move with Country, rather than be on Country. His strengths include human-centered, collaborative and situational leadership; agile problem resolution; skilled negotiation; program design and management, and highly effective resource management.
